A
Why this design?
Each landmark is reduced to one continuous line and set on a shared horizon — the idea in our emblem: different roots, same ground.
Three landmarks share one ground line beneath a single sun. The sleeves repeat a sun medallion and a band of stars and scrollwork.
“No single place on this jacket is the main one. That is the point.”
B
- Source
- The Taj Mahal, Christ the Redeemer and Maya stepped-pyramid architecture
- Location
- Agra, India · Rio de Janeiro, Brazil · Yucatán, Mexico
- Context
- The Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century under the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum on the Yamuna. Christ the Redeemer, completed in 1931, was designed by Heitor da Silva Costa with sculpture by Paul Landowski — an icon of 1930s Art Deco engineering. Stepped pyramids such as El Castillo at Chichén Itzá were raised by the Maya centuries earlier. Each belongs to its own place and its own people.
- Technique
- Single-line tonal embroidery in gold-tone thread

- Our translation
- Each landmark is reduced to one continuous line and set on a shared horizon — the idea in our emblem: different roots, same ground.
- A note on care
- Two of these sites are places of faith and remembrance. We draw them as architecture, at a respectful scale, and never alter their forms.
This design is an interpretation. The places it draws from belong to their communities and creators.
